Vancouver Freshwater FishingLocated Just 50 miles east of Vancouver is the heart of the Fraser Valley, this region offers some of the best freshwater fishing found anywhere in British Columbia. The Fraser River offers world Class Sturgeon and Salmon Fishing as well as some great trout fishing on tributary rivers like the Vedder River, Harrison River and the Upper Pitt River, we are also licensed to guide for trophy trout on over 50 interior freshwater lakes. Freshwater Sturgeon Fishing Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River is a world class fishery, a rare opportunity for any visitor or angler. Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River is a unique fishery offering anglers a real chance at catching the biggest fish they will ever catch. Over the past 17 years, STS Guiding has landed thousands of Trophy Sturgeon. Our guests travel from around the world to experience this incredible fishery. Freshwater Salmon Fishing The Fraser River is one of the largest salmon bearing rivers in the world boasting returns of salmon between 10 to 50 million per year. The Fraser River is the heart of salmon fishing in SW British Columbia. Most of the salmon that migrate along our coastal waters are returning to the Fraser River. In 2010 over 35 million Sockeye Salmon returned to the Fraser, in 2011 we are expecting another great year with millions of sockeye, Pink, Chum, Chinook and Coho salmon expected to return to our home waters. Best fishing for salmon in our rivers is between July 15 to Oct 31.
Freshwater Fly Fishing There are some great opportunities to fly fish for both salmon and trout while visiting Vancouver. Within 2 hours drive there are over 7 rivers and hundreds of lakes to explore. We choose to fish the best of these rivers and lakes and offer some of the most unique fly fishing experiences found anywhere in Vancouver. The Upper Pitt River, Lillooet River, Fraser River and Harrison River all offer excellent fishing for both salmon and trout.
